Holiday Activities

Here is a great website that has heaps of information about holiday activities, outings and how to keep the children entertained through-out the holidays.

Kiwi Families

Thriving Families has some ideas for building in a faith idea each day during the holidays.

  1. Hi all,

There are plenty of good games you can play while driving. We get the kids to look for 'tunnels' (basically anything you drive under). This can be bridges (going under them!), tree tunnels (where the trees touch across the road forming an arch), actual tunnels etc. When they spot one they might get a small treat like a lolly or similar. We can't reach the back of our car so we rig up a pulley system to 'deliver' the lollies to the back of the car.
A recent game is guessing the number of things we might spot on a section of road. Like how many moving car trailers do we think we will see between New Plymouth and Hawera. We also play spot the beetle or mini etc. Our kids are getting quite good at spotting certain car makes and models - even though they are mostly pre schoolers.
